About Mia

Mia is the heart of Greymere Farm. Intelligent, expressive, and deeply connected to her people, she has been one of the most influential horses in my life. Through our dressage journey she has taught patience, consistency, humility, and trust.

As the foundation mare for our future breeding program, Mia represents the qualities we hope to preserve for future generations: temperament, athleticism, trainability, versatility, and heart.

While currently competing and continuing her dressage education, Mia is also the cornerstone of Greymere Farm’s long-term breeding vision.

Sire: LAVRADOR(US)/LUSIADAS(PT)

Mia was sired by LAVRADOR(US)/LUSIADAS(PT), a striking sooty buckskin Lusitano stallion known for his athleticism, presence, and breed type.

Dam: JABEZ

Her dam, Jabez, is a Quarter Horse mare whose influence can still be seen in Mia’s versatility, work ethic, and willing temperament.

Mia is registered with the International Buckskin Horse Association (IBHA), where she is recognized as a Grulla Dun. Genetic testing later confirmed that she is genetically a Smoky Grulla, carrying both a cream dilution gene and a dun gene.

Recent genetic testing confirmed that Mia is genetically a Smoky Grulla, carrying both a cream dilution gene and a dun gene.

In addition to her unique coloring, Mia has tested negative for numerous inherited equine diseases, making her an exciting prospect as the future foundation mare of the Greymere Farm breeding program.

Today, Mia continues her dressage education while helping shape the vision for the future of Greymere Farm through her athleticism, intelligence, temperament, and versatility.
